My comment on Rainmeter v1.0

This is not pure Rainmetr philosophy but Enigma + Rainmeter. I understand that the new version came out, but I do not why it give Enigma + RainThemes etc. nothing practical. According to me it should be purely rainmeter + simple skin, and easy to install skinu and no ".THM" files, etc. Giving skins folder Documents, also according to me is not logic, UAC is not a reason. All pozitivum see in iTuness extension and nothing more.

Stay with version 0.14

It is my opinion.

Hi, mepu.

I noticed your criticisms of the new Rainmeter release, and your suggestion that HUD.Vision users keep using 0.14. If you're willing to read them, I would like to offer a few counterpoints:

- All of the changes that concerned you are completely modular in nature. If you don't like RainThemes or the Enigma config, they can be easily removed - you can simply deleting the folders. The same is true for the new skin directory - you can change Rainmeter.ini to point to Program Files, as usual, instead of My Documents.

- Rainmeter 1.0 made many important changes to the core program. For example, you can now use global variables like #SCREENAREAWIDTH# to detect the user's resolution. Many visual features like text shadows and anti-aliasing have been improved. A person using 0.14 cannot take advantage of these new features.

- It is possible that future updates will make older skins problematic or unusable, and HUD.Vision is such a popular skin that it would be unfortunate if a person had to choose between updated software and their favorite skin. Even if you don't want to upgrade yourself, you might want to consider changing the license of HUD.Vision to Creative Commons 3.0, which would allow other people to distribute an updated version of your work if they desired.

These suggestions are not meant to be hostile or pressuring in any way - I'm only trying to open a dialog to benefit the Rainmeter community.

I bring up the Properties window for a folder,
uncheck read-only and apply it to the folder "Rainmeter" and all sub-items.
Now you can use HUD.Vision as well as in Windows XP.

2.) change weather (AccuWeeather) dest.
